I was given a post by my Inventor HSM re-seller 3 weeks ago, and I heard comments here that it is already an outdated post.

With multi axis turning in Inventor HSM seeming to be a quickly progressing venture, it seems the posts are being modified on a very regular basis, if my post given 3 weeks ago is already "old".

Thanks!

Actually no, the posts are pretty much the tested ones from HSMWorks turning. They are no different.
I just assumed there would be a newer one, but one can never know.
When your post is working for 99% I wouldn't go to a new post. I assume your re-seller edited for you so it works on your machine? Why don't you get him back at the machine?

Ok so let me ask it this way.....

I just tried to use a supplied post included in the Inventor HSM Pro software I have. I would assume the included up to date downloads would include this tried, tested, run through the wringer post. Wouldn't a brand new Y axis Haas lathe be pretty common? The only option it drops down under the Mill/Turn selection is a name "Hass mill/turn (DEMO ONLY)". The fact it says "DEMO ONLY" in all caps does not instill confidence, and it does not seem to output right at all, having me not even wanting to mess with it.

So who is responsible for making/supplying these posts?

- Is this not a fully "included" fine tuned part of the software?
- Am I supposed to download this common post somewhere else?
- Is this some voodoo I'm supposed to figure out on my own?
- Is my software reseller supposed to handle this for me?

Please excuse the surely stupid questions. I'm super confused why this vital part of the process seems to be so hush hush and protected. Maybe I am just getting the wrong perception?

Thanks!

🙂
