Does anyone of you use HSM with a small cnc "CharlyRobot 4U"? In this case, which post processor do you use?

Hello Thierry,

The CharlyRobot 4U machine seems to use standard ISO programming. You should try the generic rs274.cps post processor.

I had already try with this post proc, but threre are a lot of errors when I generated the G code file.

I had also try Generic Tiny G and Flexicam and it's almost similar.

I will try to modify one of these but for the moment I don't know how to do it.

Hello Thierry,

Does the control error out on a specific block? You should be able to either remove or comment out the blocks that the control doesn't like so that you can see what blocks are causing the problems. I would think that the standard movement blocks (G1 X Y Z) should be fine. Once you find out the blocks that the control does not like you can post those blocks on this thread and I can assist you in learning how to make the modifications to the post for your machine.

Many thanks again for you help.

In attached files:
     "Surfacage.jpg" you can see a screen shot of that want to do.

    "Surfacage.iso" : the file generated by Inventor HSM with post proc rs274.cps (RS-274D). I have just changed the extension (.cnc) in (.iso) for the Charly Robot sotfware.

    "controler errors 1of2 and 2of2" it's the list of all errors.

    "resultat controler charly Robot" it's the g code generated by "Gpilote" the charly robot software if I load the file with the list of errors

Hello Thierry,

Thanks for supplying the NC code and screen shots of the errors. It seems that this is a very basic control and does not support a lot of the standard G-codes. You will be better off using the 'wincnc.cps' post processor for your machine, as it does not output a lot of the codes that your controller is complaining about. You may find that it still does not like some of the codes. You can easily comment out the lines in the post that output any codes that your controller does not like.

For example, if it does not like the G22 code output by this post, you can comment out the following lines in the onOpen function.

//writeBlock(gUnitModal.format(20));

...

//writeBlock(gUnitModal.format(22));

I only have a 3-axis mill. So I didn't add support for a 4th axis.

I don't know what is needed for a 4th axis, maybe you could start a new thread and ask what is needed to implement a 4th axis?
