I am trying to post an operation with a tool being optional. It looks as if the post should be outputting the "/" needed for the block skip but it is not. I dont know if i am missing something in the Post or if there is something different i need to do. Attached is the portion of the post that i feel needs attention.

/**
Writes the specified optional block.
*/
function writeOptionalBlock() {
if (properties.showSequenceNumbers) {
var words = formatWords(arguments);
if (words) {
writeWords("/", "N" + sequenceNumber, words);
sequenceNumber += properties.sequenceNumberIncrement;
}
} else {
writeWords2("/", arguments);
}
}

function formatComment(text) {
return "(" + filterText(String(text).toUpperCase(), permittedCommentChars) + ")";

As far as I know, if you select an operation as optional the post processor should mark the code from that op. optional and the post needs to be edited to support all of this.

I've edited your post and implemented "optional section" exactly as Haas generic post has.

Thank You ivan.stanojevic. I have tested it out and it seems to work. Just to be clear though, the only thing you changed in the post was the section on Optional Block Skip? And is the Mazak and Haas basically fanuc posts?

I've created a variable called optionalSection and implemented it into writeBlock function.

Then inside OnSection function I've assigned this variable to be "true" when the section is marked as optional.

However, this variable is set to be "false" in OnClose function because it doesn't have to take into account those blocks at the end of the gcode.

Don't know much about Mazak but Haas is Fanuc based indeed.
