My instructor has no experience using Solidworks or any product that can integrate into it. I'm attempting to machine the one required NIMS part on the lathe but working on the computer it only creates G-code as if the tool is above the material. I have reversed the x-axis in the job edit screen. I have rotated the tool in the library as both a right and left handed in the holder option. I have looked through every option I can think of and whenever I load up my code on the machine, the preview has the piece as if it is being machined from above. I was hoping I would be able to get some help on here.

The part in question:

Can you attach a file of a part you are having trouble with. It will be easier for people to look at it and see the problem.

If you change the spindle direction the tool will be able to be oriented the way you show in the picture (see attached file).

Not sure what problem you are having with the G-code. If you are working on the back side of the part you might have to reverse the x positive direction on the lathe.
