How is it possible that the post processor for weeke doesnt work? And how is it possible that there is not a post processor for Holzher at all? We spent a lot of money on machines and software but a lot of good inventor and fusion are when the hsm/cam doesnt work on your machines! Frustration level is RED right now.

If you share some details regarding what you mean by "doesn't work" this stands a chance of being be a productive post.

To take this a step further, am I the only one who sees and issue with the end user of these machines having to source their own Post Processor? Weeke and Holzher and everyone else should be working with Autodesk to provide the necessary software in my opinion. I will be contacting both of them today. To think that the end user is left with this burden is Ridiculous.

Autodesk does already provide a working woodWOP post
Woodworking machines are not the primary market for this software
Companies like WEEKE, Holzher & Biesse like to push their own software and don't necessarily cooperate with Autodesk
It is wrong to assume that you can buy any make or model of machine and someone will have already invested in making it work perfectly with an unrelated software product

You are right.

I would be happy if I could just get the Weeke working with fusion for now. I tried everything I have read in the related posts and the only thing I can get to work is opening the program in the assignment right on the machine and then double clicking to open it in WoodWop. Then I have to heavily modify the geometry to get it to work.

Have you tried contacting one of the re-sellers Autodesk lists for post support?

There are people willing to help you, but you need to be specific and thorough to get anywhere. "It doesn't work" is not enough info for anyone to be helpful.

What error messages are you getting?
What exactly do you mean by "heavily modify the geometry" to get it working?
Share a Fusion file including your setup, and the MPR file that is output

It could be that your setup in Fusion is wrong, or it could be that you need to customize a post for your machine, or it could just be that you are generating files that are too large (easy to do with the default woodWOP post processor).

Post development is working with bad manuals, different machine software versions and options and a lot of controls that you see only a few times in your life. Adjusting customer specific software cost money. Thats true.

The question for you is:

Do I make money with the machine?

Can I make more money with this post?

Is the profit enough to justify the cost?

I am not sure who you talked to. We use NexGen cam and I believe it costs around $750 a year. That includes product support and post adjustment support. It has been well worth it.
