On the issue of the term "Styles"

In the world of many/most Autodesk customers, and CAD communities in general, the term Style or Styles already has a meaning that is related to CAD drawings or models. I think it is this existing use of the term that causes this new use of the term on this site to really stand out and be noticed. It simply creates confusion around something that is otherwise benign because of the introduced ambiguousness around the existing meaning of the term.

I think if it were changed to about anything other thing than using the words 'Style', the issue would be resolved, and time and resources can be focused on the many other issues that are far more important

Concerning the Reply buttons
at 38:32 in the recording the question is asked "why do you want want to have the reply open in a new window/ why can't you do this here ( using the small reply button to reply in line)"

For many replies that have instructional images and code snippet windows, we want the reply to look as close to what it will look like on screen, once it has been posted. That is currently often not the case for more detailed replies. The larger window allows this more so than the small reply window.

But currently in all of the reply options, we have to anticipate the extra spacing in text, extra spacing around images and code snippet windows, etc. All of which makes the resulting reply differ from what we see in the reply editor.

Striving for a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) user experience here, will likely resolve many issues that users have with the reply box.

Currently, in terms of formatting and appearance, the experience is a WYGIWYG (What You Get Is What You Get) and very often creates an unexpected result for replies that are anything more than a single paragraph.

at 44:30 in the recording Mike speaks to an unintended consequence of the Upvote button that could happen. I agree with him that this introduces a risk to meaningful engagement.

It is already sometimes difficult to get users to provide pertinent details to issues that often require more information to resolve.

Example:

"AutoCAD is suddenly doing ____________. HELP!! " is not actionable and requires more information.

Providing a one click 'Upvote' engagement for other users that have this problem, is likely to create engagement that does not help resolve the issue. It would be better to tie this Upvote button to something that collects more information about the issue.

Currently we see this:

Maybe something that records an "Upvote" but also prompts the user to provide more information would be better.

Maybe changing this from "Upvote" to "Escalate" would help.

In any case, as currently implemented this feature is not likely to get much use, in part due to it's location. Most users would likely prefer to see time and effort spent on more urgently needed resolutions to the many issues that have been reported that are negatively impacting daily use of the site.

In the Fusion Insider page we have "Problem reports" which can be "Upvoted" when you hover over them it says "Me too" which is more meaningful

Edit: I just notice this already says "Click here if you had a similar experience"

perhaps that is another option here

I've noticed that my voice sounded unclear at some parts of the recording. Just to clarify at 3:09 I said "I essentially just agree with what Chris mentioned". Upon playback it sounds like "I disagree with what Chris mentioned". So for the record, I agree and support the feedback and comments @ChrisRS provided in the previous team office hours recorded.

I blame the fact that it was 5:30 in the morning and I didn't have my morning coffee because the coffee machine is loud and I didn't want to wake my partner 😅
