When trying to open a drawing - the following error occurs.... 'The source design of this drawing contains references to the external components that are unresolved. Open source design xxx to resolve those components.'

I looked back into the files but there are no broken components or any currently linked parts so I am not sure what the issue is. Fusion is updated and I have tried opening on multiple PC's but still, I cannot open the files.

Any suggestions? Cheers.

Can you open it via login.autodesk360.com? If so, save a new version of it and try to open it in Fusion.

I know you said there's no broken components or linked parts, but this is what I found searching for this issue:

Restore deleted references

Follow the given steps to restore the deleted external references:

Sign in to the Fusion Teams website.

Navigate to the Project folder where the assembly or drawing is saved.

Click the Trash folder in the Project folder.

Note: There are trash folders in all the subfolders of a project as well. The deleted project may be there.

Open the Trash folder and check whether the deleted component is there.

Click Restore.

Restart Fusion 360 and retest.

Note: If the deleted file is not in the trash, then check the trash at other project folder levels. Also, check project folders of linked components that might not be in the direct project folder hierarchy.

Delete missing references

Delete missing references in the design.

Open the design with Fusion 360 in offline mode.

Delete the components with a missing reference.

Save the design.

Switch back to online mode.

Open from the web

Use the "Open in Fusion 360" button when viewing the design from the Fusion Teams website. If it opens, save a new version.

Revert to a previous version

Try opening a previous version of the design. If this opens successfully, revert to the previous version.
