Latest update - Alternate Dimension Label problem

My model design units are inches. Then, in the drawing, I also show alternate units for manufacturing. However, I would always delete the "mm" auto generated unit label and simply have the [dimension] without label and indicate that [xx] was mm in the title block. This makes for a cleaner drawing.

With the latest update, any drawing I open has "mm" as part of the alternate dimension and is relocating dimensions which nicely fit between the ends, to outside the dimension lines. When I delete "mm" and press enter (which worked in the past), the alternate dimension unit reappears. Basically, unable to delete.

Is this a bug? Or, is the alternate dimension unit label now permanent and unable to be deleted? I really hope not. Is there a workaround to still have the alternate dimension but no label?

Hi @emillner ,

Is your question highlight the alternate dimension unit display [ in my case it is - 2.4016in],

which does not honor the visibility toggle from the 'document setting'?

If yes, then currently it is working as designed.

but this request can be taken into consideration after your confirmation.

Thanks & regards

Hi,

I understand the toggle mode for turning the primary dimension units on/off from "Document Settings". When I activate the alternate dimension, by default it displays "mm". Before the latest update, I could place my cursor in the dimension and delete the "mm" units. So, the dimension would display as .020 [.50]. Now, it only displays as .020 [.50mm] regardless of my editing.

It is only since the last update that I am unable to delete the "mm". I can delete the letters, but as soon as I hit enter, the "mm" comes back. Why was this ability removed?

I indicate in my title block that the dimension is "in [mm]"...there is no need to have "mm" on every dimension.

If this editing can be enabled again or a check box/toggle added into the dimension dialog box (maybe right under the Alternate Units check box), I think it would very beneficial.

I have done many drawings over the past year, and I never had a problem removing the "mm" txt on the alternate dimension. So, it is a recent change.

I can send you drawings I have done and saved as PDF and compare them to the drawings as they now open in Fusion 360. Please provide email.

Thanks for your help.
