I often need to export sketch geometry as DXF for use on a laser cutter.

The issue is that overlapping lines cause the cutter to trace its path twice.

My workflow to capture geometry is to select the surface in fusion and create a sketch.

I then project geometry onto the sketch

I then close the sketch and save to DXF

If it is a complex sketch it can take a very long time to select and delete every single overlapping line that the projection includes.

Is there a better way to do this?

Or is there a tool that I can use to automatically delete overlapping geometry?

I have used your process on any number of bodies and not yet had a double line project. Please attach one of your models where this process projects duplicate lines. If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

Do you have auto project enabled? If you do just selecting the face will project all of it edges, then I think you are selecting project again so you end up with duplicates.

2 options, turn off auto project or just select the face to sketch on then close the sketch and export without manually projecting the face.
