If you can split it with a plane then you can use Boundary Fill and set the operation to New Component. Make sure you uncheck Remove Tools. Boundary Fill is also quite useful making a copy you can modify, just select a body then select the single cell of the body. This is safer than using copy as you can reselect the body if edits to the timeline loss it as a reference.

Thank you - I have read your guidance (thank you) and looked at online tutorials but I am still struggling.

I have attached my model. What I want to do is to seperate the roof (see offset plane) so that I can print the roof seperate from the body.

Many thanks for any further help you can give...

Can you temporarily break all links to the external designs then Export as a f3d from with in Fusion, just make sure you close without saving after breaking the links. The f3z you attached has to be uploaded to a project and can be a problem to delete.

OK I used your f3Z file and it's a bit different using linked designs. What you need to do first is use boundary fill to create a copy of one component, then combine all the others to this copy then use extrude include to isolate the roof section.

You might want to move the plane to use this face, at the level you had it you trim a thin section off this area.
