Yikes!

Another good reason to use the BORN Technique.

Offset your work plane from the Origin plane rather than from a part face.

I try to use the BORN Technique as much as possible and practical - rarely using part faces to anchor geometry unless there is not another practical way.

I really don't understand and wonder me why

as shown on pics, just do a simple cercle then another one and extrude then above you make another sketch then you can fin easily the project center point .

now add offset plan like 2 mm and sketch on it and new cercle..!! and i am not in center !! while i still have the contraint and coincident !! if i use the offset plan i have this, without it's ok !!

thanks for your expert idea , try on your pc you'll see..

Hi,

1. Did you project the original geometry into the following sketch and create the coincidence towards the centre?

2. Please share the file.

File > export > save as f3d locally > attach it to the next post.

günther

yes exactly that why and i don't understand if you use sketch on cylinder is fine and if u use sketch on offset plan then you are not in center !!

here is the test files f3d

correct i did mistake on my f3d files, this one i knew it and agree that why we are on center but look now on new files and last circle

Hi,

If the circle has to be concentric with the cylinder, its centre is not on the origin but on the projected centre of the cylinder.

Screencast

günther

ah yes on this point i agree and understand but usualy and if you don't add offset plan then you are righ tin center on origin but if you add offset plan then we have to use the project which is not right in center !!!

Ok sorry for my late reply .

Here i sketch 2 files, and you can see that if you draw 1 circle then extrud, then another one on this you can find the center origin it's work sure. after another one on the offset plan...and easy to fix on the origin too and contraint coincident

now test 2 same but i cut the 1st circle , and then voilà it's not possible anymore !! you have to use the contraint concentric and not the origin !!

so as i said on full circle you can do all and use orgin at each step but when you do not have a full cylinder then the origin and coincident is not working !!

hope i am clear !! sorry for my bad english...
