it is impossible to tell without the model. Please share it here. It could be that the face you want to select on is not a plane, but really, without more information, that is just a guess.

I been having this weird issue for the last few months. Example. I choose a flat face and and right click then choose create sketch. When I go to draw something on that face it wants to draw on the opposite side face. It also wants to select any other face then the face I originally selected. My workaround is to turn off the body so I can draw at the face I originally selected. I did not have this problem 6 months ago so I don't know it was some sort of update issue. Pretty frustrating that I cannot draw the face I selected without having to turn the body off. It literally wants to draw on any other face then I one I selected.

Windows 10, Core-i7, 32GB RAM, Geforce 1660 super, SSD

Its any model, even s simple cube. I click the face and choose create schetch, when I choose to draw a center circle on the face I created the sketch on it tries to highlight other faces or the opposite face on the other side of the cube. I made a small video attached below.

sorry, but I don't have anything that can view an MKV file. But, I think there must be some misunderstanding. Once the sketch is created, the sketch plane is defined. By any chance, do you have "3D sketch" turned on? If so, that will allow you to snap to geometries not on the sketch plane during curve creation. Turn that off, and everything goes onto the sketch plane.
