I've just tested my theory that moving the assembly in the design workspace affects it in the simulation tab and thats why the components might not stay in their place. However, Im pretty sure the all the moving components are joined onto the other parts in the same way so why do only 3 of the 4 rose joints stay where they are whilst everything else moves.

On a side note, every time I change anything in one of the parts, I have to reapply the load case when I return to the simulation. Should this be happening/is there a way to avoid this?

Thanks

Hi all. I have stumbled across an issue when switching from the design tab to the simulation tab. The joints I have created when putting my assembly together just disappear when I switch to the simulation workspace - 3 parts just move randomy into space they shoudln't be in and I can't do my simulation.

I have seen simular posts were made to this forum towards the start of the year, where the issue was claimed to be fixed. Any ideas how to get around this problem?

Thanks,

Mateusz

If you assembly is not too large, please attach it to an forum reply so the forum users can troubleshoot your issue. I do not experience what you describe so it would be great to able to look at an assembly that demonstrates this issue. If you do not know how to attach your model, open it in Fusion360, select the File menu and then choose Export and save the .F3D file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a reply forum post to attach it.

Hi @jhackney1972, thanks for your reply.

Ive attached the file as a .f3z at thats the only way it let me export the file. You should be able to see that 3 of the 4 rose joints have moved in simulation.

Could this be becasue I moved the whole assembly in the design workspace? Is there a way to align the parts again in the simulation tab without moving everything to the exact spot it was in before?

Thanks

I am no expert in Simulation but I feel it is best to not use a Linked Component Assembly in a Simulation. What I did was break all your linked components from their source and saved the assembly under a different name. When I went into the Simulation, I do not get the broken Joints I observed in your original file. You still have one Fixed Constraint that is Sick in your Study 1 but all the Joints otherwise seem intact. My model is attached with a different name.
