Hi,

When I choose those 3 profiles and select cut all only the big circle in the middle cuts all, the other 2 only go to a certain point. When I do this separately, first choosing the small circles doing one cut and the big circle doing another cut it performs cut all without problem. Is there a reason behind this?

Hi,

It is strange that the extrusion of the small profiles works in a separate process with the option "All".

maybe @jeff_strater has an answer

günther

You have two bodies in the browser.

You shelled the revolved feature.

Then you combine cut the shelled body with the other piece and now have three bodies.
Then you removed the body you intended to cut away in he combine operation, which leave you with two e=separate bodies.

If you combine -join the two bodies, the extrude will perform as intended.

@TrippyLighting I see that when the bodies are combined cut all command works. But why not before combination? The steps you listed are no different but the bigger circle in the middle cuts trough all unlike the other two when all three are selected. I also try drawing random solid shapes as different bodies and an extrusion cut does cut anything through when the extent of the cut is selected "All". Having two different bodies is obviously not the reason.

Correct, the expectation is that it should actually work and as you describe, and it ususally does.

What sems ot confuse Fusion 360 that the 2 smaller holes should cut through both objects, but the center hole only through the shelled object. So for example when when you create the first extrusion in the design and add the hole to extruded profile and then later try to create these three holes, then Fusion has to cut through both objects and then it works.

Looks like this odd situation has uncovered a bug.

I see and it sounds very logical. The possibility of a bug was indeed my point, not that I couldn't make the holes obviously. So, if this is a bug can we let Autodesk know it and maybe fix it? I'm new in Autodesk environment but I think there is a way to make suggestions about the software and they might find it worth implementing. What do you think?

We can tag @jodom4 .

However, based on previosus feedback I don't think there is a chance of getting this fixed quickly, peceisely becasue it is so easy to work around.

I see. For me knowing that it is nothing but a bug is also important. Thanks for input.

yes, this is a bug. Not sure if it is related to the geometry of that body (a shelled sphere) or something else.

The Fusion bug is FUS-77007
