Hello,
I'm a beginner so maybe my question will be a trivial but it just gives me a headache.

While generating ractangular patterns my computer often just stop responding and process is never finished.

Is there any other way to generate net like mesh easier than by cloning selected faces as a pattern ?

What is it yu are rying to design ?

How are you going to make that patterned geomery ?

Or is it enough if it just looks like there is a lot of detail ?

Creating a flat plate, then 4 romboids cutting in the plate. Once I have those romboids cut selecting faces and creating a R-patterns.
I've tried to use maps but:
1. it does look crap
2. I can't create a proper model to export/convert to AR object
3. it must be a physical representation of the model/product
the only problem is this mesh.
My computer stopped responding many times when i was trying to create r-pattern on whole surface at once.
That's why I asking if there is any other solution/way to make this kind of an object.

Thank you for your response

Yep, maps have their limitations!

Based on your description It sounds like you arelady are using the solid modeling tools to create the paterns (as oppopsed tosketch patterns. The only thing left is to work wit the pattern options an see if the one has an advantage over the other.

In general CAD software does not deal well with that much geomertty (thousands of pettened instances). A mesh/polygon modeling software will perform this without a problem.

So you suggest I should create a sketch then just extrude ?

I think that could work actually.

You should definietly NOT create such large patterns in a sketch. Create one rhomboid and then pattern the extrude (timeline) fature and play with the options.

Patternig the faces of the rhombus might even be faster than that.

Hello,
Thanks for all the suggestions, will try again. Was away for a while so wasn't trying it yet.
Definitely Fusion won't work with such complex objects for sure 😛
Eventually will do in some other software like Cinema in case if Fusion will failing.
Yesterday tried to actually finish last two rows of romboids but for some unknown reason Fusion crashed.
So no luck so far.
