Fusion 360 lock up

Hello, Fusion keeps locking up after windows goes into lock screen. Close and reload and seems to be fully functional until windows lock screen.

Screen loses the model and the tri-ad

Any help would be awesome!

Peter,

I have the same issue. I am fairly certain that it correlated to the latest Fusion Update that I did last week. It never happened before then. I first thought that it occurred after waking up from SLEEP but based on your explanation, I tried to just LOCK without sleeping (WindowsKey - L). It was replicated this way, without sleeping (after sleeping, I also display the lock screen). I hope somebody figures this out.

It seems to be an issue specific to Fusion 360 set to DirectX 9. While we address this, you may be able to work around it by forcing Fusion 360 to another graphics API.

For DirectX 11, you can find this in the dropdown under Preferences > General > Graphics Driver.

If Fusion was set to Auto-select, it may be that DirectX 11 is not compatible for some reason, in which case you can force OpenGL using an environment variable:

Right-click on My Computer/This PC on the Desktop or in the Start Menu and select “Properties”
In the left column of the System window that appears, select “Advanced System Settings”
Within the System Properties window that appears, click “Environment Variables” in the bottom right
Within Environment Variables, click “New…” under the System Variables section
For Variable Name, enter NEUTRON_GRAPHICS_API
For Variable Value, enter GLCORE
Click OK to save the new variable
Launch Fusion 360

Enabling OpenGL rendering in Fusion 360

Please let me know if this gets you moving again.

Sorry I have to take that back. After making the recommended change, it appeared to work (for a while). Since then, it has locked up 3 times over the past day with the same symptom. The workspace is non responsive but I am still able to save and restart the program. I removed the workaround and went back to the original problem since it is a more predictable failure. Thank you

@Anonymous @lance.carocci Hi, I to made the changes and it stopped the lock up when windows entered win+L or went to sleep. I had to revert the changes when I noticed the simulation was laggy. This laggy problem went away when I undid the changes suggested.
