Emboss/Deboss on surface that curves in two directions

I have heard that the ability to use the emboss feature on a surface that curves in two directions is in development? Currently, I am unable to use the emboss feature as I would hope to. After not being able to select the surface, I searched the forum and it seems this issue was raised back in August 2020. Would it be possible to update me on when the ability to select a surface that curves in two directions to emboss might be available?

Thank you for the quick reply. The alternative suggestion video is appreciated. It's not so easy to follow but it's great that someone figured out a way to do it. Hopefully Fusion will simplify the process.
