It would be unfortunate if there is no way to solve this in Fusion 360. Something like this is IMO basic CAD functionality.

If Fusion360 had no parametric system, I would totally understand I had to calculate dimensions manually. But if there is already a line with a calculated length, but I cannot reference this dimension... it is just ridiculous. 😄

The following Sketch is driven by the tool measurements (114mm):

Now I am about to add the locations for the screw holes. I would like to simply divide the outer dimension by 3.

Fusion 360 did all calculations for the outer dimension, but it seems I am unable to reference it.

So, how can I add the correct dimension for 1/3 of the outer length of this part?

I am aware I could do it ridiculous complicated like this:

- Manually referencing all existing dimensions and create a large calculation.

As has been mentioned, Fusion 360 cannot pick up a reference dimension as a parameter. You can design this problem a different way and I believe get what you want. The only thing you did not specify is the segment between the end of your block and the tool measure, I am specifying that as a parameter, which can be changed. I am also making the assumption you will be creating a solid from your sketch because I use that value in my parameter table.

But, I feel stupid if I have to repeat a calculation Fusion360 already did. It also adds a possible source of error to the design: If you already added the formula, but later add an additional feature, you have to update this formula - otherwise, the dimension will not match anymore.

Also, if you e.g. need 5 or mode dimensions based on this length - it is way simpler to write five times "ref / 5" instead of "(long formula with many references) / 5". 😄
