Help, I can't select a sketch to extrude

Are there any unresolved issues highlighted in the Timeline?

Are all sketches fully defined?

Can you long left click get access to the Select Other list?

if i long left click and click the profile, i can select that and extrude it, but this is the result

After messing around a bit I got it to extrude, but I have errors. But everything looks ok, how do I get rid of the errors?

And now I have a problem with my next component. Gpu mount sketch 7, all of the slots can be selected, but extrude does nothing.

I recommend that you start over from scratch for the purpose of learning robust modeling techniques.

1. Constrain each and every line, circle, rectangle as you go - no blue geometry, no white dots.

2. Pattern Features or Faces rather than sketch elements.

3. Stop - do not continue the moment you encounter an unresolved error - do not blindly forge ahead leaving highlighted issues unresolved. Ask questions before continuing if you cannot resolve the issue on your own.

Yeah I am teaching myself by making mistakes, searching for answers, and watching tutorials. But I don't understand why extrude doesn't work sometimes

Thanks, I thought I had created it as sheet metal. That's how I was able to do it before. I guess I missed that step this time

I would prefer to make something like this as sheet metal and not via solid > convert.

And now it's back to extrude not working. I try to extrude that 2mm recess and it disappears. I can unhide it but the extrude isn't there

650mm

1900mm total, 600 of it is the bottom, so there should be 650 on both sides

Did you measure it after you bent up the flat?

Edit the Attached to whatever dimensions you really really intended.

How do I constrain the parts as I go? I will just be running into the same errors again. After I make a piece the size I want it with the rectangle function, how can a make sure it's constrained? Sometimes the lines are black and sometimes they are blue without me doing anything noticeably different

Geometry Constraints (logical Horizontal, Vertical, Tangent...) and Dimensions.

I just watched 3 separate videos on constraints, but I don't really see how they apply to a fixed shape that I don't plan on changing the geometry of. I definitely see their power and usefulness when alterations are needed.

In case of my outer shell, there are a lot of blue lines. What constraints should be placed on them?

The first two single blue lines, working from the middle out, are meant to be where the bend starts. That's my constraint.

The next two double sets of lines 80mm from there, is meant to be where the bottom portion sits. So it's simply constrained by being 80mm up.

The vertical two lines are separating the two compartments. 200mm, 5mm, and 95mm

Lastly, the next double set of lines is for the top of the compartment.

I cannot think of terms of constraining them versus of dimensions, because I have a clear view of what I intend to model.

I really appreciate you taking your time and helping me. You have really been a great source, hence the name.
