Just noticed your tip on scaling, i scaled it on 1 axis as you have suggested - cutting works as expected without redrawing the whole thing. Many thanks!

Hello,

i'm getting some unexpected behavior when splitting bodies, I'm sure its just me and it is not a bug, but i would appreciate some feedback, as i cannot pinpoint a problem and it is driving me crazy. I'm not an experienced user, so it is probably something simple, but i cannot find any faults with geometry and still having unexpected results when splitting object. Plz see the video and the file attached. The pipe was created from simple sketch and extruded, so the problem probably with the part somewhere, not the square pipe. https://youtu.be/muxBEz1PwE8

Hi,

What do you want to achieve?
Should a cut-out be created for the bracket?

günther

Hi Guenther,

thanks for replying. Yes, i would like to create a cut-out in a shape of the bracket in this tube. I can manually get rid of the artefact (that thin wall that is not removed) created after my unsuccessful cutting attempt, but i'm afraid that will create extra geometry and will interfere with laser cutting, at the moment the file i'm managing to create after manually removing the artefacts is rejected by the laser-cutting place, so I'm trying to do it properly and understand where the artefact is coming from. Wall thickness, angles and spacing on the part seem to be the same as the tube, so that thin wall shouldn't be there, something must be wrong with the part.

You could Scale or Press/Pull to make thick enough to completely cut.

Thanks a lot, I only had 2 decimal spaces in my measurements, when switching to ALL i can see what you see. The sketches are really messy with a lot of extrusions and sketches on top of sketches, I was building this while learning Fusion from scratch, so I'll probably have to redesign now. Thanks for solving this for me
