Not possible to break link of part being used in a pattern, can't export fbx with links

Hi,

I would like to break a few links on an assembly, any part that is being used in a pattern (rectangular pattern for example) can't have it's link broken, even if u want all of those parts to have their link broken.

I want to break all those links because FBX export only works when no links are present in the file.

I'm a little tired of finding new workarounds to problems that shouldn't exist and finally hitting other bugs or features that were abandoned, so if anyone has an email or a contact to somebody that could prioritise important features like this for an upcoming update, I'm happy to help.

Hi,

Without an insight into the file, it is not possible to draw conclusions about causes.

Please share the file* and say which group and patterns it is about.

* File > export > save as f3d on local device > attach it to the next post.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, here is a file where breaking links doesn't work.

Apparently it's light enough to succeed an fbx export, I'm not allowed to share my bigger files that fail the fbx export though, the problem might just be the big size. I wish I was able to do the fbx conversion locally.

1. insert 1 instance into current design

2. rightclick > break link

3. create pattern
