Bending help

I have made bends in the model previously, but all the sudden the last part I need to bend, will not.

It has been converted to sheet metal and is of complete uniform thickness.

The component in question is the top cover component.

Your issue is that the component is a sheet metal component but the body inside that component is not a sheet metal body. Screencast will explain. Model attached.

Motherboard top mesh is modeled incorrectly.

The technique used is bound to cause issues down the road.

Top I/O box is incorrectly modeled.

You have no logical control over the size.

I thought that we already established that Bend was not the correct technique to use unless you understand Bend Allowance Hand Calculations.

Not only does this technique not return logical sizes, it is far more work than the correct technique.

Can you elaborate on how to achieve a rounded form like that without bends? I am aware that the mesh isn't quite right, but could you also tell me what you think is wrong with it?

My bend screen doesn't look like that. This is what my bend screen looks like. How do I get that different window?

Did you open the file that I attached and examine the Timeline?

What does the sketch look like if you Edit Sketch?

What is the name of the feature on the Timeline?

You must be observant to the nth degree to learn this stuff outside of a classroom.

If you want to avoid doing hand calculations - yes.

If you really really want to do the hand calculations - let me know and I can walk you through the formula for Bend Allowance. Do you own a Machinery's Handbook?

Now I am trying to do that method again (it worked perfectly the first time) on the other side of the cover, and the flange wants to go vertical and now horizontal. I cannot find anything on how to change the flange's orientation

How did you end up with a sketch that is not on the sketch plane (see grid)?

Add another rectangle (at any location in space) to that sketch.

What do you observe?

No idea how that happened. I deleted that sketch and did the exact same thing again and it worked fine...
