You need to attach you model so the forum users can troubleshoot your issue. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

Hi,

I've made a small change to the direction of an extrusion which meant I had to move the component. Now the components won't revolve. Or rather when I drag to revolve, two components move linearly. It is like it has lost its in-place data. Grounding allows the right component to move, but I didn't have to do this before the change.

Have I managed to delete the "in-place" data and is there a way to fix it without grounding everything?

(I've attached a screencast gif. The screencast tool tells me "Not a Screencast URL. Please insert a public Screencast."?) Here is the screencast URL: https://www.screencast.com/t/XzUGy96Z

T.

Hi Dave,

The green bits are all extruded from one sketch (except LH side, which is a mirror). Before I broke it, I used a ridgid group to bind them together. I took it out in case it was causing the issue. With or without it, the dowel and bin moves linearly.

Thanks.

What binds all of the green unit together?

<STRIKE>Rigid Group, other joints,</STRIKE> nothing.

You have one joint in the file, it is working correctly, and moving the bin has not broken anything.

Grounding the Carcass assembly has done nothing.

Creating a Rigid Group with all the bin members (5) will deliver the desired result.

Might help....

Take a look at the Screencast. I chose to add an offset Revolve joint on the end side and then a Motion Link to join the two sides together. I later in the video showed how you could use a second As-Built Rigid joint instead of the Motion Link. The Motion Link is suppressed in the file but if you want to use it, delete the last As-Built joint in the timeline and unsuppress the Motion Link. You could use a Rigid Group instead of the As-Built Rigid joints but that is your call. Model is attached.
