Cant convert large DWG to fusion model

Hi,

I need to get a large DWG into fusion. Its 272mb.

First I tried by just uploading directly to fusion, but it hit the 1hr timeout.

So then I went into A360 and uploaded it to my account successfully. But now when i try to open it in fusion, it keeps timing out. https://a360.co/39Rlxpv

What are my options here.

can you describe what is in this DWG? Is it 3D geometry, a 2D drawing? Or, something else? If this is nearly 300MB of 2D data, you will not have much luck. Fusion will try to load this into a sketch, and that sounds like it will produce a massive sketch that is guaranteed to cause you problems.

It is a 3d model with LOTS of surfaces. Its a part model of a vehicle.

this may just be too much data for the translators to handle. Also, translating it will be just the start. I highly suspect Fusion itself will not work well with this much surface data. Is there a subset of this design that you can work with? Sorry not to have a better answer.

Hmm not really. I dont actually need to work with it...I just need to review it, do some measuring etc etc and give feedback to my modeller.

I suspect not. I think the problem is the sheer size of the data, not the format. If all you need to do is review it, I would try loading it into viewer.autodesk.com. I started that, but it is still running.

So it loaded the 2d version. But when I click on "3d view" i get a processing failed error

same here. Might be worth trying the STEP version, if you do have access to that. No guarantees, but worth trying.
