• Yes, turning down graphics has no effect.

• Tentatively speaking, this is working so far but it's only been about 10 minutes with it on, so no solid results yet.

• Yeah I sent it with a little message about my situation.

Hello, I'm a new user to Fusion 360, and I've been using it so far to make useful little stl files to 3D print for use around the home and in school projects. Recently, I've been having an issue where it will very often give me an error reading "graphics driver has stopped responding." All the buttons will still work, and I can still load and save my work just fine, but the work area goes completely unresponsive and I need to restart the entire program. I'm running recently updated Windows 10 on a Ryzen 5 2600 processor with no integrated graphics, and a dedicated RX 5700 XT with the most recent drivers as my GPU. My GPU was running entirely normal handling it just fine at 55 degrees Celsius right before the crash. Included below is an image of the error, an image of the very simple geometry I was working on, and an image of my version. Notice that textbox for the chamfering is still working fine, and I can apply the chamfer even without the graphics driver running.

Thanks in advance for any response.

Edit:
I should probably add, I have one Add-in called GF Gear Generator.

Thanks, I need to get some help with this.

For now, can you try turning off the graphics effects? There's a check box in the Graphics Diagnostic tool for that.

Are you using two monitors?

No, I'm using a single monitor. It's a native 4k monitor but I run it at 1440p using display settings for compatibility sake most of the time outside of watching movies or playing some games. I don't know if that would be a potential issue. I'll turn off some graphics settings and try making a couple quick things.

Edit:
It took this long of playing around with a file for me to get the same error. Approximately 3 minutes.

Any updates? I tried a complete re-install of Fusion 360 and made 100% sure all my drivers were fine, and I got about 3 hours over the course of two days of Fusion working before the issue returned.

Did you try turning down the effects listed in the Graphics Diagnostic?

Another thing you can try is changing the graphics driver in preferences.

I tried forcing it to use OpenGL, since I know AMD cards like that, and I got this error. I then tried switching to DirectX 11 and the "Graphics driver has stopped responding" happens instantly on loading a model.

edit: Changing graphics settings doesn't help at all. Maybe I get a few more minutes before the crash, but nothing usable.

Thanks.

I found your crash report. Thanks for sending it. It's not conclusive at this point. It does show the problem is related to the AMD card.

There is a fix to be released soon related to AMD cards and the recent updates. I'm hoping that will fix your problem too, but it's really impossible to tell from just the report.

Did DX9 help?

So far setting it to DX9 seems to have helped, but it sort of feels like a band-aid solution. In terms of AMD cards, have you seen or heard of situations where changing some settings in Adrenaline, the management software for AMD GPUs, has helped reduce issues with Fusion?
