Removed part of a solid is included when I create a drawing

I downloaded a STEP file containing a plastic injection tool blank from partcommunity.com.

Now that I have created our cavities and I try to create a 2D drawing, the cut away part is included in the drawing.

I never had this happen before. Is it because I used a STEP model as the base for the tool?

I'd be most interested in what is being selected for the drawing. If you have other bodies in the model, even if they are off, they may be set to visible in the drawing (i'm not sure if this was changed or not yet, but it used to be the case) So its possible its just the wrong body enabled. We most need to see this design so we can test creating drawings from it. OR at the very least, see a picture of the expanded browser tree in the drawing.

Thanks for the reply!

I right clicked on the body and selected "Create drawing", so it should only be that body.

I guess I could share it with you people at Autodesk, but I think my boss would be upset if I posted a public link in the forum. 🙂

So nothing is broken. Its a result of a workflow, basically you are creating a drawing from a component (not body) and therefore its imperative you select 'only visible' when creating the view:

Select will be ALL bodies or subcomponents. Visible will copy the visibility settings into the drawing. I tested this in your design and it worked as expected. Its important to note all components are still brought into the drawing but will be determined by the following content drop down settings:

Full assembly will grab every component body etc. regardless of visibility
Select will be just the component, but it will also ignore active visibility
Visible only will disable all bodies and components you currently have visibility settings for.
