I am encountering a persistent bug with sketch dimensions that change sides during geometry adjustments. For example, I need to dimension a hole from the bottom edge of my configurable cabinet. The cabinet's design ensures that its midpoint is always centered at the origin, so when the cabinet's height changes, it expands both upwards and downwards from this midpoint.

The issue arises when the configuration change results in a height that exceeds the set dimension value from the bottom. Often, this causes the dimension to flip, positioning the hole row incorrectly—200mm below the bottom edge instead of 200mm above it, leading the hole to be outside the workpiece.

I suspect the problem occurs because my bottom edge is not fixed relative to the origin; only the cabinet's midpoint is. While I have occasionally managed to bypass this issue by strategically adjusting dimensions, at times, complex workarounds are required to prevent this error from compromising my model.

Hi @moritzLCGFK

We are aware of some sketch dimensioning issues with Configurations. They tend to be specific to certain conditions in the design which leads the dimensions to go astray. We can investigate and fix the issue if we can get the dataset. If you are uncomfortable sharing it on the forum, you can share it directly with me - kattetg@autodesk.com.

Regards
