yes i have the machine simulate it on too , which while we are at it , it'd be nice if the simulator remembered positions and options between runs 🙂

so i am guessing even though the model/tool option for view is active, it doesn't do anything in machine simulate mode?

i swear before i've managed to get the part not to move around when in simulation and the tool moves instead, but for the life of me i can't repeat it ?

cheers!

You don't happen to be testing out Machine Sim at the same time, are you?

That is correct. Machine simulation will always have the part moving around in the XY

ok yeah i clicked off the machine node, but i guess it still stays there regardless, and with the view option still being accessible it seemed like it ought to do something and i knew i'd done it before.

cheers

Do you have to uncheck the machine simulation beta in preferences or is there a checkbox or option somewhere to disable machine simulation (ie part moving XY) in the setup? It can be useful sometimes but at the moment it is a huge distraction for me.

either turn it off or remove the machine from the setup in cam, then the drop down for view works.
