I wondered why "render in screen" and offline render showed different result.

I did not expect that, please check the pictures.

Hey djon_3V3,

Fusion uses different processes for cloud rendering and local rendering. That's why you're getting different results with the two methods.

Thanks for your input.

None are cloud renders. The first is a "render in the canvas", second one is a local "more real" render, but still local.

But i guess that you implied that there are two engines, and one of them is used for canvas, which is why there are discrepancies. Did i get it right?

@jodom4 that should actually not be the case as it would render (pun intended) Fusion 360's cloud render ability somewhat useless.

It also does not match my experience either. Usually the cloud and canvas render are very close if not identical.

This looks like a bug to me!

TrippyLighting is right, I misspoke. The difference between the two is that cloud rendering stops calculating at whatever quality / resolution you choose, whereas in-canvas rendering can calculate to infinity. That means you can get much higher quality with in-canvas if you're willing to wait for it.

The quality of in-canvas rendering depends on where you stop calculating.

@jodom4 yes the graininess of the 1st render means it need to "cook" longer. However, I am wondering whether the OP is referencing the completely different colors ..

yes, i am referencing the color. Looks like the solder stop mask is not seen when rendering in canvas.

Sorry i did not mention that, seemed obvious to me. I'll make sure to indicate those details next time.

Is it model specific issue? If yes, would you please share this model to me? And if not, did you make any changes to the preferences of PCB or rendering related settings? Thanks!

Hi @djon_3V3 , I've checked your model. The "in canvas render" seems to be affected by the canvases(silkscreen), if you hide the "Canvases" node from browser and try in-canvas render again, it will show the similar result as cloud/local render. I will send this issue to development team for investigation. Thanks for reporting this issue to us!

Hi @djon_3V3 , just feel free to stop sharing and cleanup the file I created for testing(naming with "Sally_Testing"). I've already downloaded the 3D PCB file and attached it to our defect ticket. Thanks for all your help!
