Yup, assumingly, I had to extract all this information (I already know, btw) from your "Stay away from eating until you learn endocrinology". The point is: I know I can do it manually, but I asked for an automated tool, which is absent. Glad for your wounded pride.

Anyway it doesn't change the fact that message 5 is comletely unhelpful.

Good day. I am still struggling with the basic operations in F360. There is a 3d sketch line sequence with 2 peak points, that need to be rounded. But the fillet op between the arc and straight line fails. Why on earth there should be a problem? Every single program can accomplish this easily. I have no constraints in this sketch, except for the coincident points.

Hi,

Since there is no common plane between the elements, the fillet would be "virtually" bent in itself.

But this is not possible.

günther

What's the point of your statement? Fillet can also be defined as a bezier curve, having it's control points based on incoming curves tangents, and it would work like a charm. But of course you had to put your meaningless sentence here.

This is actually possible in many other programs, it depends on how you define "fillet". I'd call it lack of functionality. But thanks anyway.

The design you presented does not use a spline as a fillet. It uses an arc. That arc needs to be on a plane that coincides with the line the and the point the arc ends in. That stuff is better to control outside of a 3D sketch.

That is what I mean with "stick to the basics".

You can of course use a spline as what is often defined in other CAD software as blend curve to be used as a fillet. This would be one of the areas that actually would justify using a 3D sketch. However, such a blend curve, usually a 5-degree spline with G2 constraints at either end, needs two adjacent curve segments to blend between, not a curve/line and a point.

Both of the above can be done in Fusion 360. Both, fit point splines and control point splines (3-degree and 5-degree) are in the sketch menu.

Lacking aptitude and then having an attitude is not welcome here on the forum!

In what exact post did you ask for an automated tool and what level of "automation" do you expect ?

If you use other CAD software, do you have a reference behavior you can demonstrate ?

Again, you presented a design and sketch that, mildly speaking, did not show a lot of promise.

Maybe show a bit more effort in your initial posts when you ask questions the next time.
