Um...not sure what the question is. To use the WCS, you must first create a Setup, and then define the orientation of your model by selecting the Z and X/Y axis accordingly

That's correct, the WCS visibility disappears once you start applying toolpaths. What is the desired behavior, and why?

And no, you cannot directly measure to the WCS in the MFG workspace. However, if you were to apply a Joint Origin (in Design space) to the part, and then use THAT for your WCS, you would have the means of measuring from the model to that point any time you want. However, you will not be able to measure from Simulation, if that's one of your further goals
