More than a year later I updated the same Mac to Mojave and the dreaded heat is back. I looked for the ADPClientservices again and sure enough, it was back and using a huge amount of virtual ram... deleted again.

Turn on hidden files on your Mac CMD+Shift+. and search for the app, search for it and delete.

Short version: I have a new MacBook Pro 16 which gets very hot when Fusion is installed. This happens whether or not Fusion itself is running. Specs below:

Processor Name: 8-Core Intel Core i9

Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz

Total Number of Cores: 8

Memory: 64 GB

Long Version: I spent the past few months fighting with Apple care about my MacBook which gets very very hot under normal use. They did every test they could and kept insisting the computer was fine. I brought a meat thermometer into the apple store and showed them that the keyboard was 110* and the air out the back was around 130*. And this while the computer was sitting there with safari running and nothing else. This was normal they said. They sent it out to their thing and did all the diagnostics and said things were fine.

I did multiple OS wipes and reinstalls and during one of these I left Fusion off the computer for a few days and immediately noticed that the dumb thing was back down to a perfectly comfortable and normal temp. I've since tried reinstalling fusion and sure enough, the heat comes right back. This is happening whether or not Fusion is actually running on the computer or just installed.

Is anyone else having this issue and if so, is there something I can do which will allow me to have Fusion installed without turning my computer into a panini press?

Thanks for any help...

I run Fusion on 13" MacBook Pro without any overheating, but my brother has 15" which has been suffering from high power consumption, now high temperature and short battery life.

We checked the battery consumption which was reported as over 3 amps! (About this Mac, System Report, Power).
On further investigation using Activity Monitor this showed a thread (ACoreManager or something like that) in red and not responding. Force quit the thread and problem solved - power consumption dropped to 1/2 amp and temperature and battery to normal.
He now has Activity monitor active and recently saw several instances of the same thread all stalled, but the power consumption was still normal - obviously depends on where the thread hangs - the Mac should remove the dead thread before trying to start another.
Seems like Apple tech guys not really on the ball.
I guess Fusion probably requests for higher performance if the machine has the facility, but maybe Apple have a problem there?

Thanks for the reply, I've looked through activity monitor but don't see anything which is running abnormally high, I'll check again.

Ok so I found something on another forum about processes, apparently related to Fusion360 which cause excess processor load and overheating. ADPClientService is one of them which seems to be a culprit and someone else mentioned mDNSrepsonder. I've attached a couple of screen shots.

If these are active my Mac heats up royally and burns through a battery. If I force quit them in activity monitor things seem to go back to normal.

Not sure if there's a way to stop these from screwing up, they start every time the Mac starts.

Yep, that's definitely not fixing it...

If I uninstall Fusion the computer runs normally. With it installed, even if not running, the Mac gets incredibly hot to the point where it's not usable.

Help?
