Hi

I have recently started using Fusion 360 and am having a few problems

1 - files keep either being scaled by 10x or -10x when importing and exporting.

2 - when I have exported the files to dxf all the components jump around and lines don't meet up. This means they need completely re drawing by our CNC tech

3 some of the dxf's are 'locked' so are once exported cant be edited, measured ect ect

please help?

Hi

I am designing sofa frames in 3D, each flat panel or timber rail I am making as a separate component with in the file. when I send it to the frame tech he opens it in Auto Cad and it has loads of bugs, is corrupt or wrong scale.

flat panels need to be CNC'd.

thanks

Hi

thanks for the help, looks like a cool useful tool but not not really what I was looking for. I wanted to be able to draw a frame and send it as a 3d model for the cad tech to be able to take the components he needs for cnc. when I send the file the lines jump everywhere. I sent a flat dxf but when he opened none of the lines were connected or where i drew them. any sugestions?

thanks

Jake

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

And Attach resulting dxf files that exhibit the behaviors that you describe and the dwg files after import might be useful too in diagnosing the issues.

One of your problems is using "Auto project geometry on active sketch plane". When you have this enabled and you sketch on a face all edges are projected into the sketch

Then when you copy and move the component you get something like this. This is component 26 but you have others, the shaded area is from the edges of the plane you sketched on.

You'd need to edit the sketches and delete the curves forming the profile. You will only need to edit one of the copies, just double click on an edge to select the whole path. You will then need to manually project in a point to constrain the sketch if you where using the profile before.

You can actually select and delete without editing the sketch but don't leave the sketch unconstrained.

On the Scale, all cloud exports are done in CM, the units are set in the DXF so the program opening them should be able to convert to whatever units you need.
