If you place text, in a sketch with either type of font, and you have difficulty trying to Extrude it, go into the sketch, right click on the text and select Explode Text. This will give you a Fixed Constrain Sketch which you can un-Fix and edit easily if needed using the Divide and Conquer method. Post an example and the Forum users will give you some help. You will have to attach your model using the Reply to Topic section at the bottom of a post (except the original)

I know versions of this question have occurred earlier.

I have a custom ttf font that includes our company logo.

It worked fine in the past with Fusion 360.

1. This font is installed in the Windows font directory.

2. It never shows up in the font choices.

3. I converted it to OTF format and this shows up. However this is useless to me since I want to extrude it which I believe requires ttf format.

4. I entered Sketch.TextWritingSystem /any and got what looks like a good response. I think this is what worked with an earlier Fusion install that worked fine with my font in ttf format.

It seems that these kind of issues are common. So what can I do?

I may have found a working solution.

I went to fontconverter.org and converted my original ttf
file to otf.
This file is visible in Fusion.

I went to a font editor (forgot the name now) that let me
rename my otf font file. This step is probably not needed
but I didn't want to corrupt my master ttf

Then I went to fontconverter.org again..

In advanced options they have a feature called autohinting
which I turned on

I then converted the otf back to ttf with its new name.

Now Fusion 360 sees my ttf file and it seems to work.
