Problems with exporting dxf

I've encountered a new problem with DXFs since the last couple of updates.

I use DXFs from Fusion to import into CorelDraw which runs a laser cutter.

Since the last updates, the DXF that is exported into CorelDraw appears in the program correctly visually, but it seems to hold some information that causes the laser cutter to not perform as expected anymore. Nothing with the laser cutter or CorelDraw has changed.

If I use DXFs created before the last couple of updates, they work fine. If I use ones created after, the lasercutter is getting some information from the DXF file that makes the laser not work (I have no idea how this is possible) but also the DXF is not followed and the machine will basically move the laser head back and forth over an inch for 10 times and then make a tiny circle at the center (a shape which is not in the file), then go on to follow the DXF as displayed in CorelDraw.

I'm fairly certain the tiny circle is actually the origin point in Fusions sketch. How this is being exported as a 2D shape is really strange. There is no sketch of a circle in the file.

The erratic movement that Fusion is causing in the exported DXF is not a set movement of an inch being gone over 10 times followed by a tiny circle, into the actual shape. If I put in a different shape, the erratic movements will do something else, such as go back and forth over a line 18 inches long ad infinitum.

I have tried exporting files as .dwg and it does the same thing.

Please attach an example of a problem model that you cannot get an accurate DXF from. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

This is an example of a file which does not work correctly since the last couple of updates.

Here is a sample shape I made in Fusion, exported as a DXF, and what CorelDraw sees. As you can see, Fusion is now telling the DXF to export the origin point as a shape/line within the DXF. There is no line/drawing in the Fusion sketch, that is simply a point on the origin the program assigns by default. This was never happening in the past before the updates.

I have no clue as to what the strange repetitive line information is in the DXF file that the laser cutter is now seeing in these files.

Using your supplied sketch and the Save As DXF command from the Browser, I see no issues. The DXF created opens correctly in both AutoCAD 2025 and Fusion. DXF is attached.

The issue isn't going to be shown here. For some reason, Fusion is exporting points as lines in DXFs now. It also contains some information of lines which are not displayed but are in the file.

Never had a problem of Fusion doing this before the updates.

If you look at the picture of the simple circle drawing you can see one issue (the point being exported as a line drawing).

If I make an extrusion of the sketch, then copy the sketch off the top of the extrusion, it does not cause this issue of exporting points as lines, or these 'phantom' lines that repeat 10 times or so before going into the actual DXF.

Obviously, I don't want to be doing this extra step as a work around for something that should be easy for Fusion to perform (nor does it work for some applications).

Someone else reported problems exporting to illustrator because Fusion was exporting as a polycurve. The workaround was to create a 2d drawing and export that as a DXF.

You can turn off the title block and border so only the part is exported. Although this seems a bit more work, it does mean you can layout several parts on the sheet even different view directions.
