topic Running F360 on Mac with M1 chip? in Fusion Support Forum

I'm looking to replace my iMac. It is crashing regularly when using F360 generate paths in Manufacture in particular. This is likely due to the cpu struggling with only 4Mb of RAM. I have 2 questions regarding this:
1) Is F360 now stable with the M1 chip?
2) What's the ETA on the native version of F360 for the M1 chip?

Hey SBRITCHFORD,

Fusion was featured in the most recent Apple ARM-based M1 Macbook Pro announcement. Although Fusion still isn't compatible on Apple’s new M1 chipset architecture yet, Rosetta 2 should enable you to run Fusion 360*.

We're working on it, but don't have an ETA to share publicly at this time, but will be sure to keep you posted on our progress towards support of Apple’s new line of chipsets. Here's a post with more information: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/running-fusion-360-with-rosetta-2-on-apple-arm-based-m1-chipsets/td-p/9876850

Any update on this or an expected date of release? I too will be using a mac with Fusion and am hoping for F360 to be m1 optimized.

I recently got M1 Mac and I'm impressed with the speed and stability. Fusion 360 runs just fine.

I have a 2021 M1 MacBook Air, and I'm fairly new to F360 as its barely been 2 or 3 weeks since I got. I realized that its not running smoothly at all, it even crashes a few times (it just did, the promo to this post actually). I'm wondering if its that M1 just can't handle the load or if its the version of fusion 360 I got, I have the free hobbyist version.

For the vast majority of people, Fusion360 runs fine on Apple's new silicon. The official thread is over here.

That's kidna strange, because my Fusion is stable even with the heaviest models I have. Did you try to reinstall it, for example?

Any news on the M1 version for Fusion?
I would like to spend a license for the non-trial version, but not for a Rosetta version.
Converting a simple STL file to a solid body and Fusion is almost unusable for this object.
Any operation on this converted solid body causes the processor to skyrocket to values over 150% and a Beach Ball of Death mixed with Black&White Legacy Ring of Death is displayed.

LL&P

David
