I would be happy to take a look at your model but you did not attach it, as I requested, in my first reply. I also gave you instructions on how to attach it. Most of the time you use Assembly Joints to join the model together in a logical manner but I have to see you model to see where you are.

I have been trying to rotate a completed model to a desired degree without it breaking apart. I can free hand rotate, but not to the exact degree i need it to be in. Is there anyway to do this. When i try to select the model, chosing the rotate comand, selecting axis and rotating, the model breaks apart in pieces. I am using models from various equipment suppliers, not ones i have built myself.

The reason you are having difficulty is probably because you do not have you model fully joined together using Joints. In the video I rotate a simple assembly around the Z-Axis to any degree I desire. If you would like, attach your model and I would be glad to take a look at it. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Attached is the model, but if what you say is true, then i don't get any models from the suppliers that have joined models. So unless there is a way to globally join all the parts, i will probably be stuck with freehand rotate and move.

The video will explain my process. I took off the Ground to Parent to demonstrate that you model was joined together but you will have to add this back at some point. Please pay attention to the use of the Move command, if you use it, and be sure to select Components instead of Bodies.

Thanks, that was very helpful.
One other question. I need to be able to rotate the model in plan view to specific angles that way when I look at the elevation views it is correct. The way you show it I have to rotate around a part of the model. If there is no part of the model that is at ground level that I can chose as the axis point or see when in plan view, how do I rotate it correctly so that the elevation view is correct.

One other question, it seems as the models I am sent are never correct as to Top, Front, Right or Home. Is that just inherent with making models or just laziness.

The video will supply the answers to your questions. By the way, showed how you can change the exact angle of the model on the plan view, you can also drag it as desired. Model is attached.
