Import New Version- Issue with the file in assembly

On importing new version of a file in fusion 360, all the corresponding links of that part gets broken in an assembly using the same file. How to solve this issue.

There is no solution to this. I~~mporting a new version essentially overwrites what you have with an external design.~~(edit: i should clarify, it does not overwrite existing versions, but inserts a new version which from then on would 'overwrite' the previous designs) In fact it doesn't even have to be at all related to the original design to be imported as a new version. In my view, this tool should be used as a last resort.

I'm curious why you are using it? Can you elaborate?

Thankyou for the reply.

I have a big assembly file in Fusion 360 with several components repeating
several time and each of them have joints in the assembly.

So when there comes the need to change an existing component with another
one, then I have to do the entire assembly of that component and do the
joint again which is very labor intensive.

I am looking for an option like SAVE and REPLACE.(like the one available in
Autodesk Inventor).

Is such an option available in fusion 360? Or any other options to do the
same.

I have tried this. But what it does is just saves the same file to location specified by the user with a different name. I am unable to replace the model in the assembly without breaking the link. All the joints specified before are lost on replacing the file-(happened when I used the option to import a new version)
