That's awesome of you to change the file for me. So the step is not step but a mesh converter to brep the uploader did not use a step file. So the all the Multiboard "CAD" files is no real difference thna the stl. Oh well. The free version of Fusion does not have "Prismatic" to convert meshes, so poor results for even simple meshes.

Thank you, I will have to bin the idea of quickly "remixing" the files.

Hi

I'm using the hobby version of Fusion. I am downloading .step files from a creator and then upload into the datapanel. The plan is to edit it (i.e. "remix" in 3d Print parlance) Anyway, the import/upload is straightforward, but all the step files converts to an stl, thus I can't do anything with it that is usefull. I can convert to Brep, but that is painfull. Is this specific to the free version or am I doing something wrong in uploading it?

Can you share one of the stp files?

Edit. Also do you get the same result using open rather than upload?

Thanks for the reply. Open gives the same result as upload.

Here is the link to the original file where you download the STEP, and I also attach the file.

https://thangs.com/designer/Multiboard/3d-model/2x1x2-Deep%2520-%2520Multibin%2520Simple%2520Drawer-1128863

Thanks

EDIT. Looking again I see for some reason Fusion is converting the faceted BREP into a mesh on import which seems a bit odd. When I open in Rhino I get a BREP but in Fusion a mesh! Don't know if that's something new.

This is not a Fusion problem, the file only contains a mesh that's been converted to a BREP.

This is what I get opening the design in Rhino 3d.

Whoever created this has converted the model into a mesh then converted the mesh into a faced BREP.

For once it actually did a good job. File's attached.
