Fusion crashing with remote desktop

I'm having trouble with my Fusion crashing everytime I activate (or deactivate) my remote desktop. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi @david.lundbergC7AM5 ,

Did you receive any crash error reports that then generates a crash report ID? If so can you pass on one of the IDs?

Do you mind sending up the complete log files? Help -> Support & Diagnostics ->Diagnostics log files. This will generate a zip file that you can upload. The one attached does not give all the information that will help.

@david.lundbergC7AM5 RDP often needs some tweaks in the Group Policy Manager to better-support graphically-accelerated applications. Your crash log indicates a Radeon driver crash, which helps support this theory. Would you please try the following steps?

On the host device, Run or search the Start Menu for gpedit.msc - also known as Group Policy Editor
Expand the Local Computer Policy to navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Remote Session Environment > RemoteFX for Windows Server
- Take a moment to observe the default state of these settings. In most cases, "Not Configured" represents the Default configuration, in the event changes must be reverted.
Enable the three policies listed:
1. Configure RemoteFX
2. Optimize visual experience when using RemoteFX
3. Optimize visual experience for Remote Desktop Service Sessions
Restart the device, and try the remote session again.

In most cases, this should be enough to properly enable hardware accelerated graphics over an RDP session.

If steps 1-4 did not work, or you wish to continue tweaking advanced settings at your own risk, continue on
Step up one level in the Group Policy Console Tree to the Remote Session Environment folder, and again observe the default state of the Settings
The Enabled settings in the screenshot above should, in theory, provide the highest-quality streaming experience over RDP
- Many Settings, once enabled, have sub-menus allowing additional configuration - for example, Configure image quality for RemoteFX Adaptive Graphics has options of Lossless, High, Medium, and Low
- Warning: You should be able to experiment with these changes without risk of breaking the RDP experience - however, should the stream quality deteriorate, toggling a Setting back to its original value or Not Configured should revert the previous change

Out of curiosity, did you need to adjust any policies from Step 5, or were the initial three sufficient?
