cpu 100% when skeching on a projected 3d coil

hi,

i have xiomi redmi laptop,

intel i7 10th gen 4 core cpu

nvidia gx 350 gpu

my problem -

when editing the twist angel on the sweep feture - the softwere is getting a very hard jamm for a few minuts.

Your link does not allow download. If you are using a Fusion 360 Personal license, you cannot share a file this way. If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

what specific operation are you doing that is slow? The title of the post refers to "sketching", but the description talks about "editing the twist angel on the sweep feture". I can edit the sweep feature - it is a bit slow, but only around 5 seconds to do the edit. I can change the angle as well, and again, the change takes about 5 seconds. Can you be clearer about what the issue is with this design? This is a fairly complex sweep, so it will take some time to compute - no free lunches here...

i ment it takes a very long time to edit the sweep feature.

i assume you tried editing it on my model?

my computer spec should be more then enouge to my understanding...

any other ides on why this specific feature is causing it to crash? did no happen on other features.

mayby i should model it diffrently?

I did not experience any crashes. I guess "slow" is subjective. Yes, this sweep is a bit slow to edit. But, as I said, this sweep is pretty complex (helix path + the rotation value), so it is not reasonable to expect instant results. But, there are a couple of suggestions:

don't create a sketch for the path. You can just directly use the edge of your coil body as a path
instead of using twist value, try "sweep with guide surface" to control the twist. Without being completely certain of you desired geometry, here is an example. I created a cylinder to use as the guide surface:

it is a bit quicker that sweep + twist. But, still not instant (and you should not expect it to be). Model is attached
