Sketch71 would be the one! I see, I was looking to extrude that region around the cylinder. Should I have used something other than project to surface? Or should I be using a different method to achieve the extruded region?

I have a sketch projected along a cylindrical body and for whatever reason, I can't seem to do anything with the projected geometries in terms of extrusions. Anyone know what the fix might be? The lines are no longer purple as I've broken the links for the projected lines; apologies if it's a little janky I'm not the most experienced with projecting sketches. PS, ignore the fact that the original sketch has an error, I've removed the rest of the files just for this example as the assembly was a bit complex and might be distracting.

Thanks so much!

are you trying to work with the geometry in Sketch71?

It looks like this was created with Project Curve to Surface. What is it that you want to do with these curves? Remember that Extrude (and other profile-based features) only work with planar profiles. The curves in this sketch are not planar (other than the highlighted bottom circle)

here is one way to do what I think you are after - it uses surface extrude + split faces + offset faces.

That seems to work great thanks! Would there be any way where I could also maintain the original shape of the sketch? It unfortunately deforms a bit with the offset face applied.

Here's a way using a 2 sided extrude with one side set to To. Starts of like @jeff_strater's version to create the annular boss, then add the extrude. File's attached.

You really should full constrain your sketch. Was going to show how in a screencast but you've used so many bad habits it's hard to fix. Not sure how you've ended up with so many constraints missing.

Awesome I never would have thought of that! Thank you both so much! Haha no worries with the missing constraints, the original model is without all the missing constraints and sketches etc. Just came from a complex project so I thought I might as well send the file on its own since it still gets the idea across 🙂
