I've seen something similar if the last save to directory's no longer available. Try the fix in this post or a clean uninstall using the tool here.

If those don't work, there was a bug a while ago where a STL thumbnail viewer installed by another program caused Fusion to crash. This should be fixed though, are you using the most up to date version of Fusion?

Attempting the "Save as mesh" fails.

Rough reproduction:

1) Right click on component

2) Save as mesh

3) Dialog pops up asking about mesh format/etc, click "OK"

4) Nothing happens for a bit, the program still seems mostly functional(*)

5) Fusion 360 crashes.

(*) Before the crash and after clicking "OK" in the save as mesh dialog, the context menu when right-clicking on items in the browser (where origin/bodies/etc are listed), no context menu appears.

Demo: https://youtu.be/mt_L0Y4-hSA

Nice catch! Your link fixed my issue -- I commented out LastDirectoryOptionId in %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Neutron Platform\Options\NMachineSpecificOptions.xml and started Fusion 360. I can now export meshes 👍

Digging a small bit, the option had this setting:

<LastDirectoryOptionId UserName="LastDirectoryOptionId" Value="//tsclient/Documents"/>

Doing some googling on `//tsclient/` path, this likely got used as the last directory because I used Remote Desktop once to do some modelling a few months ago.
