Newbie trying to figure out Joints. I'm probably missing something fundamental, but can't figure it out.

I'd like to have the yellow lever rotate freely around it's pivot on the end of the black lever, which is also pivoted. When I apply joints to each, the yellow lever becomes locked in position. If I ground the black lever I can rotate the yellow as I want, but then of course the black lever won't rotate.

Thanks !

https://a360.co/3BHrrEL

If you have any contact sets, remove them.

presuming the black pivot pin is grounded,

if this does not fix it - will need access to the file to see what is causing it.

Might help....

I'm looking at this. There are no contact sets involved. Both joints are free to move - you can see this if you create a Motion Link between the two (not saying this is a solution, just a technique to see that both can move). Also, Drive Joint and Animate Model can show both joints are free to move. Not sure why component drag does not work...

I am having trouble with this too. Using animate and drive joint shows the joint can move, but I cannot component drag. I have a model that was created maybe a year or two ago and the component drag works in this model but not any of my new designs.

If I ground the Black lever itself I can rotate the yellow lever like I want, but then I loose motion on the black lever.

I thought I had provide a public link to the drawing, is it not available ?

I am not sure this can be done with Fusion 360.

To be honest, this is a complete redo as that is likely the only way to avoid all the yellow waring icons you have in your assembly. You should NEVER ignore a waring and fix the root cause immediately when the waring occurs.

Also, using the align feature to locate/orient components, and the subsequent use of an as-built joint is not a technique I would recommend.
