I'm working on a design and want to export the assembly or do one of the multiple actions accessible through the 'File' Dropdown.

But sometimes, around 90% of the time. When I click 'File' a new tab open's. I have to close this new tab and return to my design. Is this a bug ? Is this happening to anyone else ?

This has been happening to me too, short video attached. It seems like if you click on the "File" button and wait for it to turn white before dragging the mouse into the menu, it works correctly. But if you click and move the mouse down too fast, it will open a new file.

<video-js data-video-id="6367325899112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

I think I have fixed this. The menu is much more responsive now and doesn't randomly open new tabs.

My Windows 11 wasn't automatically updating, even when prompted, it said my version had reached end of service. So I went here to manually update: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

I found out during this process that I had to enable something called TPM in my BIOS UEFI settings (or fTPM or TPM 2.0, seems to be called a few different things), so once I did that, the update worked and now Fusion is running much more smoothly as well.

@Steven_Gao Fusion appears to register a click event on the falling edge of the signal and also records the clicked-on screen coordinates on the falling edge. When the user moves the mouse even slightly between pressing and releasing the mouse button, the first menu item in the File menu, "new design," is selected, which opens a new tab.

It might be advantageous for Fusion to record the screen coordinates with the rising edge, so it doesn't matter if the mouse moves between the rising and falling edge.

I used to do a bit of programming and tools are actually selected on mouse button up release rather than on mouse down (for noise debounce purposes).

Over the years I saw lots of instances where users would start to get pretty good and fast moving with the mouse.

They would inadvertently move the mouse before letting the button up (in a fluid muscle memory motion that is hard to visually perceive).

Funny story, if you Undo in SolidWorks and do the fast muscle memory motion the first option is Undo All. Students would watch as their model undid itself step by step all the way back to the beginning until blank screen. Unlike Autodesk Inventor Professional, SolidWorks does not have a Redo - so all work was lost if not saved. I thought it was hilarious to watch. The students, not so much.

OK, story time over - back the original problem description.

Make sure you release the mouse button over the File, before moving.

You can test the behavior both ways and I'll bet you can reproduce.

I think the issue is this... when the server is running slow/overloaded, the response time is lagging, and our quick movements are too fast for the site. This is why it doesn't happen all the time...

What @pjdeligd said is still happening.

I keep wondering how such a massive and expensive program has so many flaws. i am a free user, so I suspect free version is massively nerfed. Otherwise, it's just strange, how after
4 months it is yet to be fixed.
