not really intended, no. But, managing appearance in a timeline design is a challenge, because there is no feature for it. If you apply an appearance to a body at feature 100, then roll back to feature 50, that body will still have that appearance, even though you are back in time well before the appearance was actually applied. So, managing the identity of faces/bodies/components can be hard as those entities evolve over the course of the timeline. If you have examples where this happens, we'd be interested, and would like to fix those, but there will always probably be cases where this doesn't work 100% right.

Hi,

In the German forum it was reported that appearances of surfaces disappear when you jump back and forward in the timeline.
Then a COMPUTE ALL is necessary to make them visible again.
Body appearances, on the other hand, update automatically.

Is this an intended behaviour?

günther

Screencast

Hi Jeff,

first of all thank you for your explanation.
The behavior described in the screencast is easy to recreate.

günther

Thanks. The screencast was very clear. Yes, this is not as intended, and we'll look into that. Thanks for taking the time to record that screencast.

it turns out that problem has already been identified, and is being tracked in FUS-84801, which was originally reported here: bug-report-appearance-on-component-body-faces-is-lost
