Sketch over constraint with no obvious reason

I have this issue with a sketch being constrained for no obvious reason.

If I add a parallel constrain between line 1 and line 2, dimension 3 can be modified(see attached screenshot).

I don't get it, I should be able to modify dimension 3. I attached a very simplified sketch of my model with this problem.

OK, maybe trying to simplify things to give as an example was not the best idea. That line I used as an example.

I'll attach the complete sketch. -> here when I try to modify the same dimension as in 1st picture I get the over constrained message. I deleted everything and found out that even if I have a simple line constrained to line 1 I have the same problem.

I prefer to use many simple sketches rather than a complex sketch. ~~I don't think~~ I know I have ever had a sketch with that many dimensions/geometry constraints.

I'll try to split in 2 different sketches and project what I need from 1st to the 2nd one, maybe this will work

Be sure to "exercise" the first sketch before going on to the second sketch.

You want to make sure that edits do not break the sketch before making additional cross-sketch relationships.

Also - I would look for stuff that can be patterned as feature/bodies/components rather than as duplicated sketch elements.

Thanks for the hints, splitting into 2 sketches finally did the trick.

No more problem, also improved some things here and there. Only a coupe of hours trying to figure out what was over constrained.
