Yeah, that's what I suspected. This SVG has over 23,000 curves and 23,000 points. This is way more entities than will ever work well with Fusion. With profiles off, I can insert it OK:

but, if you are planning to extrude it (not clear to me what you will extrude from this), you will have to turn profiles on at some point. It is likely to take a long time to identify the profiles with that many sketch primitives. A very long time... If you are very patient, you might be able to do it. But, then, I suspect you will have performance issues creating the toolpaths from that large of a design.

First program I downloaded was fusion, and to my dismay its still runs slow when I import an SVG. I see people manipulating entire car engines with no issue. And mine is just a sketch.

[GPU Information]
GPU Device: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
GPU RAM: 12160 MB
GPU Driver API: DirectX 11.0
GPU Driver Version: 472.47
GPU Driver Date: 10/27/2021

[Graphics Effects Settings]
Anti Aliasing: Off
Ambient Occlusion: Off
Object Shadow: Off
Ground Shadow: Off
Ground Reflection: Off
Selection Display Style: Simple
Transparency Effect: Better Performance

[Limit effects to optimize performance]
On

Any help is apprecaited

please attach an example SVG. It is easy to find or create SVGs with thousands or tens of thousands of lines/arcs. This will always cause poor performance in Fusion. The Fusion sketch engine is designed for sketches with a few dozen entities, and will degrade quickly if you try to include a large number of entities. So, even though it is "just a sketch", it can still negatively affect performance if the sketch is large enough.

You can try turning off "show profiles", that can sometimes help with large sketch performance, but even then, it is never a good idea to try to work with super-large sketches.

First you should make sure Fusion 360 is actually using your Nvidia card, this is not an automatic thing. Second, try the OpenGL Core Profile as your graphic driver, it suits my Nvidia card much better, of course my card is over 14 years old.

Im trying to edit and ultimately extrude so that I can create some tools paths to try and carve this file on my cnc router. Im going to try and turn off profiles meanwhile

So far toggling Show Profile off definitely made a huge difference!

Does autodesk have a different software that's better suited for this kind of task? I see my peers carving similar intricate designs. OR is it just a matter of not extruding and creating paths using the 2D sketch?
