Single quantity rectangular pattern suggestion

Hey there,

I'd like to suggest a feature for the rectangular pattern tool, please allow the "ok" button to be pressed when the result of a function inside "Quantity" returns 1.

This is currently not possible, but it would help a whole lot when creating complex parametric designs, as sometimes my parameters may result in only one component required, and sometimes they could make 3 or 4, and right now the only option is to go in the story and manually suppress the pattern.

I'm not sure this is the right place to suggest features, feel free to tell me to post it somewhere else.

Hey @g-andresen ,

Sorry I don't see any way to change the compute option on a component rectangular pattern, notice how the "ok" button stays grayed out.

Hi,

I almost exclusively use features or faces.
But I can also enter the quantity 1 for components both directly and via variables.

you can do this today from the Parameters dialog, but, as you noted, it is blocked in the command itself. It seems to be a reasonable request, I'll enter it.

yes, @g-andresen is correct here - I replied without even testing this. @s.daniele01 - your post refers to component pattern, is that correct? I was able to set the count to 1, either directly, or using a function. Are you doing something different than in the screencast?

Thanks for the reply, I can see it is working for you, I tried this many times in my design but every time an expression returned 1 the "ok" button would get grayed out, I'm sure of this because it caused me a lot of frustration.

I will try again tomorrow and let you know, In the meantime if you have 5 minutes do you mind taking a look at the other suggestion I posted on the forum today? That one would be incredibly useful. Thank you!

I think @s.daniele01 point is illustrated in my Screencast. You cannot enter a quantity of 1 for the pattern count directly in the dialog box. You have to assign it to a variable from the back door, first setting it to a variable of more than 1 and then change the parameter to 1.

@jhackney1972 is exactly right, I think even if you wrote X param -1 while creating the feature it wouldn't have let you create it, you first have to create it with a quantity of more than 1 and then edit it.

Hi,

I have tested it again.
You cannot define the quantity 1 when you first create the design, but you can change it to 1 later in edit mode.

created FUS-95542 for this issue - cannot create a 1x1 pattern, but you can get there via edit feature
