Still doing it here. Does depend a bit what else is going on on the PC, and if I've just completed a task in F360 before heading for the print option. I've just got used to clicking on the file icon and waiting for a second before moving the mouse, OR you can dodge the mouse around to the right before moving it down so if it does get delayed it won't open a new file or whatever! I don't have any issue with menus opening slowly, that's not really a problem it's just a delay. What irritates the hell out of me is in F360 after the delay, the program autoselects whatever is under the mouse when the menu wakes up from its little sleep, and then it activates it! That should never happen. Whe the menu wakes up, it's fine to have it highlighting whatever's under wherever the mouse happens to be, but there's no way it should be effectively pressing the mouse button for you 🐵

Fusion360 File Menu now sluggish

Recent update (December 2024) caused this issue.

When I want to 3D print a component, I click on the File Menu icon and up pops a list starting with "New Design" and the "3D Print" is 13th in the list. So after clicking on the File Menu icon I have to move the mouse pointer down the list to select "3D Print".

That always worked fine. I'm pretty swift with my mouse so as soon as I've clicked on the File Menu icon I'm already down the list ready to click on "3D Print". BUT I can't do that anymore, because F360 now has a fractional delay of probably about a quarter of a second during which if you move the mouse at all, when the menu pops up it seems to auto-select whatever was under the mouse when the menu fully appears. This causes the menu to auto-select "New Design" usually, as that's where my mouse happens to be when the menu pops up.

This is getting very irritating, as every time I go to print a component I end up instead with a New Design tab which I need to close before clicking on the File Menu again and remembering to hover there for a moment until the menu appears before going down it to select 3D Print! I guess I'll eventually learn to remember to hover before mousing down the list, and I expect the cause could be related to the fact that my PC isn't as fast as some people's, but this is a new issue so I suspect F360 has been made just too slow to be able to react instantaneously when clicking on the File Menu icon.

Any update on this? All of my drop down menus are taking like 1 second to open. And when I do move the mouse before it opens, it also opens some random window where the mouse was previously.

Same problem here, TBH I thought it was just me. It's okay at first but if I've been working on a lot of files the menu slows down and pretty much does the first command on the list unless I wait for a second before moving the cursor down the menu. Really annoying!

Any updates on this by chance? It's been almost a year, and I'm a new Fusion 360 user. Same thing is happening to me. Thought it may have just been me being on my Mac Studio (M2 Ultra w/ 64GB of memory). I was thinking about switching to my custom build, but now I'm doubting it'll perform any better on that if others are reporting the same thing.
